Simplifying the design of a medical instrument to clarify a health concept.
Background and goals
One of Toronto's office buildings required a standard 26x40 inch poster designed to inform tenants of their blood pressure clinic. The goal was to mimic the colour scheme of an older design but introduce new content. The date and time would be manually written by hand, therefore extra space had to be allocated on the poster.
The idea was to remove the numbers on the pressure gauge and replace them with something more intuitive. The design took about 4 hours to complete, with stock photo website image search being the most time consuming. Two images were then combined together to create a shallow depth of field effect.
